Aluminium HorseboxesIf your priority is maximum carrying capacity then a container constructed in aluminium uprights may be the answer. The use of as much aluminium as possible in place of steel uprights decreases the weight of the container therefore giving a greater payload. Construction and DesignA TRISTAR lightweight container is manufactured with 75 x 40mm aluminium channel uprights and sheeting on the inside. The luton area over the cab is designed to allow the cab to be tilted for ease of access to the engine. The horse area is lined with 12mm plywood up to 4', covered with 12mm STOKBOARD, and the floor is constructed with 2" thick tanalised timber. The partitions are fully adjustable, with telescopic fastenings so they can be positioned at different angles or widths to suit your needs. Our usual design has a built-in head divider and is half-height solid with a rubber skirt to allow for the horses' legs to be spread for balance. Opening windows with protection bars are fitted on the nearside of the box, and there is also a 6' grooms door positioned on this side. The ramp has industrial carpet and grip rods as standard with a choice of smooth loading doors or wicket type gates. |
